I write these blogs each week for myself. I preach…what I need to hear. This week is no exception.
While stopping for gas, this display caught my eye. Who isn’t tempted by the sight and smell of cooking hot dogs…especially a jalapeno cheddar smoked sausage! Throw on spicy mustard, ketchup, relish, and go for it! Or perhaps you’re tempted to wait for the pork chile verde taquito to roll past the “still cooking” sign to experience the best that QuikTrip has to offer!1
Do you ever feel like one of these poor hot dogs? Year after year passes, life spins you around and around, and you get more and more cooked the older you get.
Yeah, but Tarek, I love life on the roller! I don’t have to make decisions! I roll out of bed, roll to work, roll home, roll to the couch to watch Netflix, then roll to bed, and do it again and again…
What if today was different? If you allow it, life will happen for you, not to you. Today does not have to be the same as yesterday.
If you allow it, life will happen for you, not to you. Today does not have to be the same as yesterday.
What is one small action you could take to move in a better direction so you can stop sitting, spinning, and cooking on that roller? Here is one thing I’m doing on this beautiful Sunday:
I’m taking a walk.
A long walk. Outside. I’m going to clear my head of all the clutter and think. I might listen to an audiobook or a podcast. Or I may not listen to anything and just notice the beauty around me.
Get off the roller. You were made for more. Today is your day for a fresh start.

Love it Tarek ♥️
I do on occasion buy one of those “flavored” hot dogs 🤓
God doesn’t skip steps
The process and journey to our goals requires action, not passivity
Wisdom gained in the daily grind in life
Patience, yet movement on my part off the “rollers” one day at a time
Thought provoking post
Thank you Tarek

This weekend was one of the sunniest and warmest in awhile. We had a picnic with friends and just simply sat in the sun and talked...to them...and to other people we didn't know. I felt unrushed...happy....not consuming anything...ahhhh!
