wonderful post David. I would join my brother out there but I'd have to live in a tent on the beach. You write very well, I'm looking forward to your Substack!
I love Carpenteria! I've lived in Montana for thirty years but the beach continues to call to me. I can still remember a time, almost fifty years ago now, when I was suffering from serious major depression. Instinctively I knew it would help if I could get my mind on others. It certainly wasn't a miracle cure and it took more time than I hoped, but I'm convinced it helped and has been something I rely on heavily when I feel my mood shift negatively and know I'm doing too much navel gazing.
Linda, whenever I can take my wife to the beach, she's so happy. I get it! We love Carp; it's like a beach town that has been lost in time. Thank you for reading friend!
…everyone is fighting a battle you know nothing about…
…make them smile 😀…
Always love your posts
Therapy…
Our youngest daughter lives in Calabasas, less than an hour from Carpenteria
Everyone seems to have a dog…
Mckenzie and her husband Brad have three shelter dogs
Two huskies and a sweet mutt
They walk and run the beach with their dogs
He surfs
She loves to sit and drink coffee at the local coffee lab; several coffee shops in LA have the Onyx coffee from this little town in Rogers, Arkansas
She feels like she is home when drinking Onyx coffee
Their church has what seems like every tribe and nation
One of the few times in life during visits with her when I am the minority
They love ❤️ Jesus ✝️
I “get” to see our daughter soon
Business trip to California
Grateful
