My favorite holiday is coming up this Thursday. Why? Because it’s not complicated with gift giving. It’s about gathering with family and friends. It’s about great food. And most of all, it’s one day out of the year that we pause to think about how much we have.
Here are a few things I’m thankful for:
For you. I started this blog with a handful of family and friends on the subscriber list. I was afraid to post it on social media. We’re now we’re nearing 150 subscribers. I wasn’t sure if anyone would like it. I know that some of you will resonate with the messages and others won’t. I’m OK with that. I’m excited to see how this community will grow and how I can continue to serve you.
Struggles. Without them, we wouldn’t know the power of overcoming them. There’s so much growth on the other side of the obstacles we face. This week I overcame a bad attitude to finish the week strong. Hey, it’s a small victory but I’ll take it! Napoleon Hill said, “Every adversity, every failure, every heartbreak, carries with it the seed of an equal or greater benefit.” Let’s keep reminding ourselves of this truth.
Imperfect action.1 If there’s a perfect path, I want to follow it. This blog is something I never would have tried even a year ago. I did it without knowing the outcome. I wonder what imperfection action you need to take in order to move your dreams out of neutral?
Serving others. The opportunities are all around us. There are people we interact with every day who are carrying unimaginable heavy burdens. I was reminded this week that it changes me most of all when I’m able to do even a small thing to help someone else. No amount of money or success would make up for this.
My health.2 I found this picture I’d taken of Susanna’s bible after my surgery. Each day we are given is a gift. I don’t want to waste it.
I realize that for some, the holidays are difficult. Many of us lost loved ones around this time and we’re just trying to get through it. Others have a lot of turmoil going on right now. For those of you going through a hard time, I pray for one day of respite from the storm. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday everyone.
What are you most thankful for?
Thank you John Oliver and Taylor Hamlet for giving me the push I needed!
I know this *sounds* circular, but I decided to be grateful for the sense of gratitude I've cultivated in the last ten years since I learned how important it is and became mindful about it. Reading your inspiring posts helps me sustain that fire! Thank you!
