So good Tarek! Forgiveness is such a big deal. My first understanding of what a big deal it really is was in reading John Bevere's book The Bait of Satan. There are eternal consequences to unforgiveness. There are health consequences and, of course, relationship consequences. It's not a request... it's a requirement. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this.

Great post Tarek. Bitterness (Unforgiveness) is the poison that we drink thinking that it will make the other person sick. Don Henley had it right, when you get down to the Heart of the Matter.

Indeed Matt! Why is this such a hard lesson to learn? We end up poisoning our own lives instead.

Wow Tarek!

After reading your post I looked through my note log and found a chapter in my life that began with forgiveness.

2007

I enter songs in my journal that define what is happening in my heart, mind, body, soul.

Music 🎶 has a way of helping me push aside my defensive barriers to be truthful with myself and listen to my Holy Spirit, Savior, Creator.

The first song in my 2007 journal is The Heart of the Matter - Don Henley.

Then Everything - Lifehouse.

Then After the Rain - Aaron Jeoffrey.

Then I’m Moving On - Rascal Flatts.

Then When You Believe - Whitney Houston & Mariah Carey.

Then Time For Me To Fly - REO Speedwagon.

Then Captivated - True Worshippers.

Your post I recommend for those in the separation/divorce chapter in their life.

Stop fighting.

Be still.

Let go.

I John 1:9

Matthew 6:14-15

Matthew 18:21-22

The pages and chapters continue to be written of my life…

One day at a time.

Thank you Tarek for your surrendering and discipline of posting thought 💭 provoking words through stories.

Continued inspiration from God.

David

Beautiful David. Thank you for sharing your story.

A deeper dive in to the last verse of Heart of the Matter is so appropriate for this time we find ourselves in:

“These times are so uncertain

There's a yearning undefined

And people filled with rage

We all need a little tenderness

How can love survive in such

a graceless age”
